When will systems be fully restored?
Our priority is to restore systems safely and carefully. We do not have a confirmed timeline for full restoration at this stage. We are working around the clock and will provide updates as they become available.
What systems are now available?
The following systems have been restored or were not impacted:
Banner Enterprise Management System
MyMRU Employee and Student Portal (some functions still not available)
D2L Learning Management System (not impacted)
Single Sign On authentication for cloud-based systems
Website (some functions still not available)
Phone service
G-Suite tools such as Gmail and Google Docs (not impacted)
The University continues to work on recovery of the following systems:
Remaining functions of MyMRU portal
Remaining website functions
Restoration of H drive and J Drive data.
Can employees access MyMRU?
Yes, the MyMRU employee portal is now up and running. This means that you can now access information and functions as you had within MyMRU, including Human Resources and Finance. This does not include timesheets for now. Please watch for updates from Payroll regarding the transition back to electronic timesheets. We may experience intermittent disruptions with a large volume of users initially. If you are unable to log in, are bumped out or if a specific area is not working, please try again at a later time.
Is MyMRU functioning for students?
Yes, students can also now safely access MyMRU. This means students can now register for courses, make payments, request transcripts and request confirmation of their enrolment status. Fall and Winter semester registrations remain in place and final grades from previously taken courses remain as recorded. We may experience intermittent disruptions with a large volume of users initially. If you are unable to log in, are bumped out or if a specific area is not working, please try again at a later time.
Do students need to reset their passwords to access MyMRU?
Yes. To access MyMRU, you must first update your MRU account by either activating it or resetting your password. The action required will vary depending on your account. Even though you may have activated it in the past, you may be prompted to do it again. You do not need to be on campus to do this. This is a critical step in helping keep MRU systems secure. To make the process easier, please attempt to activate your account first. If that fails, then reset your password. Please check your July 24 email (MyMRU Restoration Update) for details.
Is it safe to use University systems now?
Yes. We are restoring services in a controlled and secure manner. Systems are being brought back online only after appropriate validation and security checks.
Who do I call in an emergency?
For safety and security-related emergencies, please call Security Services at 403.585.6764. Please reserve this line strictly for safety and security matters. If there is a Facilities-related emergency, call 403.827.0103.
